The deal between you and UTern.

UTern is intended for students and job seekers who are at least 18 years old. You must affirm that you meet this age requirement. By using it, you confirm that the information in your profile is accurate and that you have the right to share the documents you upload, including your resume.

• You're responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your login credentials private.
• Tell us at contact@utern.ai if you suspect unauthorized access.
• One person, one account. Don't share logins or impersonate someone else.

• Free for students: students are not charged to use UTern. There is no plan to buy, no trial that turns into a bill, and no feature held back behind a payment.
• Honest role signals: UTern never inflates your readiness or treats a claim as proof.
• You press submit: Apply Mode fills applications locally and never auto-submits them on your behalf.
• Your data stays yours: as described in our Privacy Policy.

• What it is: you get a personal invite link you can send to friends. UTern is free for students, so the link buys nothing and unlocks nothing. It only tells us who introduced whom.
• What counts: a qualified referral is a new, real person creating their first UTern account through your link. Each person can be referred once, and you can't refer yourself.
• No gaming it: fake, duplicate, or automated accounts don't count, and creating them may cost you access to the program.
• The program can change: we may modify or end the referral program at any time.

Some students subscribed while UTern charged for access. Students are not charged any more. If you still have an active subscription, open Settings and then Billing to manage or cancel it through Stripe, and your access to UTern stays exactly the same after you cancel.

• Don't scrape, resell, or redistribute internship listings or other content from UTern.
• Don't submit false information in applications or use UTern to deceive employers.
• Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, overload, or interfere with the service, or access it through automated means we haven't authorized.
• Don't use UTern for anything illegal or to harass others.

UTern generates draft cover letters, outreach, follow-ups, and answers, and fills application fields for you. These are drafts. You're responsible for reviewing everything for accuracy and tone before you send or submit it. UTern isn't responsible for the outcome of any application.

• Your content stays yours. You grant us a limited license to use it only to provide the service: finding roles and seats, reading your record against the seats you say yes to, and drafting what you review.
• The product is ours. The UTern name, design, and software are owned by UTern Corp.

UTern helps you discover and apply to internships, but we don't guarantee interviews, offers, or employment. Listings come from third-party sources and may be out of date or inaccurate. The service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

To the extent permitted by law, UTern Corp is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Because the core product is free, our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past twelve months (which, for most users, is nothing).

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account, or by emailing contact@utern.ai. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability) will continue to apply.

If we change these terms, we'll update the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify signed-in users by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use UTern after a change means you accept the updated terms.
